Recced because: Y'all might suspect that I'm reccing this simply as payback to blu, who rec'd the original some time ago. But that would be unfair to those who actually read this community for recommendations of excellent stories! No, I'm reccing this remix because it is exquisitely done.

Blu takes what was originally a straightforwardly-told flashback and turns it into a flickering collage of swirling images that tantalize the edges of Glitch's mind (and the reader's), generating a sense of loss that would be painful if it weren't also so beautiful. Her final twist made me wibble helplessly.

Recced because: Its always nice to come across the story that starts off fun, tosses you a bit of serious, but keeps you smiling until the end. Cain and DG sharing secrets over one of her Otherside quirks is deliciously playful, and the author does an excellent job of keeping the story light, though some of the discussed subject material grows a little dark. Oh, and watch out for purple beans.

Recced because: If there's one thing the world needs more of, is TEAM LOVE. This is a series of short scenes showing how DG could get involved with each of the guys, until finally we see how it *really* how it is and how it should be - the four of them together, perfectly balanced and blended and in love. What gets me about this story, the line that just nails everything I love and is memorable about it is this:

And some days she'd spy Glitch shaking sawdust from his coat, and some days Raw would be too slow covering a yawn to conceal a wine-blackened tongue, and some days she'd find Cain contemplating a yellow birch leaf.

Recced because: Glitch, Ambrose, or something else - whatever he's called, he's an endlessly complicated and fascinating character. This story has a special quality of perspective that makes it feel like you're seeing the world through Glitch's eyes as he struggles to recover after the series. What I find especially wonderful about this story is how each character interacts with Glitch, helping him remember what he's been through. It's just stunning and heartbreaking and beautiful.

(Also - though I use the name "Glitch" for the description and the tagging, it's not the one used in the story, nor is it "Ambrose." But I am doing so to avoid spoilers!)

Recced because: "An Ageless Light" is a 'verse I just can't get enough of. I loved every minute of it. So when this interlude came out, filling in a bit of the back story of Glitch and Wyatt as they circled around each other dizzyingly...it was perfect. It's all about how they're "not together" for the whole story, then suddenly they are in the end. It's touching; so full of everything good and wonderful about "Al" that I'm so thrilled that it was gifted upon us readers.

The theory comes from even more theories about the infamously vague Winter Palace scenes and, more specifically, how after Raw brain-reads him or something hurts him he goes back into 'Doesn't Know You' Glitch SO FAST."

Recced because: One - the TITLE ALONE. Two - This is based around a brilliant pondering of what might happen if and when Glitch got his brain back. There's so many questions left unanswered by the series, but Luchia pieces together what we know with what might be. I absolutely love the insight into Ambrose's obsession with having a body and all the details that go into his fascination. I love Glitch being the personable one of the two, keeping his friends close and his enemies (Az!) closer. I just - really, really love the character, depth and detail of this story.

Recced because: Just because I don't ship any our fab four doesn't mean that I don't get in the occassional mood to read any ship fic. I stumbled on this piece during our Author Appreciation Week back in August (?) and I'm shocked that it hasn't been formally recommended yet. The imagery is gorgeous, the growing of friendship into love is not over-the-top, and the author even brought back a piece of canon that is sometimes missed, the robo-rents losing their memory. The bottom line is: go read now.

Irritation scratches at him, pesky and burrowing. DG’s disappearance has rocked a world just barely beginning to heal. And while he’s not exactly privy to the ongoings of the royal family, he was a father – is a father - and he knows deeply the hot fear of a missing child. He hadn’t waited for a request that may or may not have been coming.
