The first is an attentive Ambrose, who notices something worrisome about Cain and pays close attention to it, and the second is an attentive Cain, who’s paying close attention to Glitch...and Ambrose.

Recced because: This is a gorgeous fic. Unique and imaginative, it combines the science of the Outer Zone with the magic of Oz. It starts out with an experiment gone wrong, but then begins to darken and deepen into a beautiful and complex fairy tale. It has two people struggling to figure each other out, Cain having a lot to learn, and a lot to teach, some delicious hurt/comfort, and an epic love story wrapped up in a riddle.
