Warnings: This is a DARK story. There are references to torture and rape, though neither occur on-screen.

Recced because: This story is one of the ones that stayed with me. Its effectively tragic, and descriptively vivid. The ripples that continue outward after a shocking event touch not only those directly affected, but those left to sit and watch it all break apart... and then out of the ashes, rebuild. It is the hopeful ending that gives this story an edge, and I truly think that even if you don't 'ship C/DG, you should give this one a chance.

Recced because: ~~Sequel!~~ There is an empty echo to this story, the cries of a broken heart trying to mend. Less graphic than its predecessor, but still as beautifully wrought, referring to what we do for those we love, and what we must do for ourselves. I wish there had been more from this author...

Recced because: I love stories that hint at darker aspects of the culture within the O.Z., and this story brings a brilliant touch of that; of the kinds of traditions we don't find out about until too late. The characters are in perfect form, in the aftermath of events that bring the Tin Man and the Princess a little closer than they intended. Angst, with the slightest brushing of fluff.

Recced because: If there's one thing the world needs more of, is TEAM LOVE. This is a series of short scenes showing how DG could get involved with each of the guys, until finally we see how it *really* how it is and how it should be - the four of them together, perfectly balanced and blended and in love. What gets me about this story, the line that just nails everything I love and is memorable about it is this:

And some days she'd spy Glitch shaking sawdust from his coat, and some days Raw would be too slow covering a yawn to conceal a wine-blackened tongue, and some days she'd find Cain contemplating a yellow birch leaf.

Recced because: Just because I don't ship any our fab four doesn't mean that I don't get in the occassional mood to read any ship fic. I stumbled on this piece during our Author Appreciation Week back in August (?) and I'm shocked that it hasn't been formally recommended yet. The imagery is gorgeous, the growing of friendship into love is not over-the-top, and the author even brought back a piece of canon that is sometimes missed, the robo-rents losing their memory. The bottom line is: go read now.

She deserves her title the Mistress of Angst for this one alone. She is a talented writer, her work needs to be read!
